What is facial lymphatic drainage?
The lymphatic system removes toxins and excess fluid from tissues. When this circulation slows down — due to stress, lack of sleep, or a salty diet — fluids accumulate, leading to a puffy face, drawn features, and a dull complexion. Lymphatic drainage manually stimulates these vessels to restart circulation.
Benefits for your skin
- ✓ Reduction of swelling and under-eye bags
- ✓ Brighter, more oxygenated complexion
- ✓ Natural lifting effect, redefined contours
- ✓ Reduction of dark circles
- ✓ Feeling of lightness and muscle relaxation
Allow 2 to 4 weeks of regular practice for visible results.
How to practice at home: 5 steps
1. Prepare your skin — Apply a few drops of oil or serum to clean skin to facilitate gliding.
2. Start with the neck — Apply gentle pressure from the jawline down to the collarbone. This is essential to open the pathway for drainage.
3. Work the facial contours — From the chin towards the ears, with light and consistent pressure.
4. Drain the eye area — From the inner corner to the outer corner of the eye, then towards the temple. Use very light pressure, without pulling the skin.
5. Finish with the forehead — From the center towards the temples, then pass back down the neck to evacuate the drained fluids.
What tool to use?
Drainage can be done with fingers, but a specialized brush yields more consistent results. The Zylora brush was specifically designed for this purpose: ergonomic shape, soft materials compatible with sensitive skin, effective from the first use.
Recommended frequency
4 to 5 times a week, preferably in the morning, in 3 to 5 minutes. Regularity is more important than intensity.
Mistakes to avoid
- ✗ Pressing too hard — light pressure is sufficient
- ✗ Working in the wrong direction — always towards the lymph nodes
- ✗ Forgetting the neck — it's the essential starting step
- ✗ Practicing on dry skin — risk of irritation
